Ed-Est Collective Agreement

If your bargaining unit has not entered into negotiations with your school jurisdiction, employers cannot change arbitrary pay or working conditions. The expired collective agreements will continue to be in place until a new agreement is ratified. Other improvements to the EB collective agreement: We will provide the final text and full details of the EB Group`s preliminary agreement, as well as agreement on common issues as soon as it becomes available. Shortly thereafter, EB members are invited to participate in the online ratification votes. Voting details will be released as soon as possible. PSAC is committed to continuing to insist on improvements and to oppose the concessions of the EB collective agreement. The PSAC negotiating team unanimously recommends the ratification of the interim agreement. The salaries of ED-EST 12-month teachers differ from province to province, and the shift to a new national rate of pay has long been a problem. PSAC proposed a new national rate of pay for these teachers, and a joint committee of employer and union representatives had previously agreed to recommend a national wage rate that would serve as the basis for negotiation. If you are part of a bargaining unit that has ratified its 2018-2020 collective agreement, this new contract will appear below as soon as it has been prepared, read and fully signed by all parties. If not listed below, you can check out the ratified agreements here (see local negotiations in the negotiation updates). PSAC has proposed wage adjustments that track the wages of other workers in comparable jobs, both outside and within the federal public service.

In many cases, the salaries of PSAC members in the EB group are much lower than those of other workers in similar positions. For example, elementary and secondary teachers (INAC) who work on Ontario`s Aboriginal reserves receive an average of 7.3% less than teachers who work in the direction of Ontario`s schools. And EB vice-directors receive up to 22% less than in Ontario school boards, while EB principals receive up to 20% less than their Ontario school board colleagues. The union is also disappointed that the government, by all means at its disposal, has refused to submit a PIC form in both official languages. You can download PSAC`s EB PIC submission in English and French and access the government`s English filing here. For more information on individual concessions, click here. The employer made an insulting counter-offer of wage adjustments of up to 1% for these EB positions. To make sure you receive all the updates and participate in the ratification process, make sure that you either have updated your contact information on the PSAC members portal, or that you create an account if you haven`t already. Negotiations for the 2018-2020 cycle of the 61 public, separate and French-language school courts are underway. .

PSAC has received recommendations from the ICP on specific themes from the Eb (Education and Library Science) group. Recommendations may be accepted or rejected by the union and/or employer. For this group, our members were a little more fortunate. Some of their applications have been accepted: currently, the employer is required to provide allowances to workers who take training leave rather than wages – at least 50% and up to 100% of the base salary. The employer requires a concession that gives the employer the option of paying or not paying compensation and would reduce the minimum compensation to 0%.
